Cheddar Pizza House

Kathryn and Richard Munday have launched Cheddar Pizza House offering homemade pizzas for takeaway on Friday and Saturday evenings from their home here in Cheddar.

We started this business on 29th January 2021 during lockdown 3.

Since then, we have made over 350 pizzas from our home and have been elated with all the support we have received from the local Cheddar community and the surrounding area’s.

Don Bishop Photography

Don Bishop has been a keen enthusiast photographer for over 30 years, initially concentrating for the majority of that time on photographing his other great passion – steam trains.

He went full time professional in 2006 and increased the time spent on landscape subjects and now has a comprehensive collection of fine art prints available of coast, country and mountain areas of the UK and these can be seen on the Landscape prints section of this site.

From Somerset to all over the UK

Based in Somerset he has travelled all over the UK, often covering many miles out and back in a day, making images of memorable landscape locations with a mind to capturing these in wonderful lighting conditions. Much time being spent planning locations and working out the best light angles for the time of day and year of his visit, and frequently spending a long time on location waiting for the right light – if not deciding to return on another day/time of year.

It is Don’s passion for warm colourful lighting that drives him to get up early and travel many miles to achieve the stunning images seen in his gallery at Cheddar Gorge in Somerset. Don is very passionate about getting the shot right “in camera” rather than working to create it at home in post processing software on his computer – spending enough time in front of a computer running a business as it is! To this end Don uses filters extensively to control the balance between light and shade in his images and to ensure the camera records what we see with ours eyes and not the limited spectrum of light and colour that a camera, without such filters, is limited to. Don uses the Lee Filters system on his Canon professional camera and lenses. More can be learnt about this on our workshops if you are keen photographer using an SLR camera. Hopefully all of this will come across in his images on the gallery pages.

Don’s images are regularly published in magazines (in particular Heritage Railway, Steam Railway & Railways Illustrated) along with written articles on railway subjects and photography, books and on calendars, cards and video/DVD covers.

Friends for Pets

Friends for Pets was established in 2008 by Becca Wilson, with the aim of providing high quality pet sitting services including dog day care and dog walking to Cheddar and the surrounding areas. The Cheddar dog walking team also covers Winscombe, Churchill, Sandford, Axbridge, Wedmore, Draycott, Cross, Shipham and surrounding villages. Our Cheddar dog walking team offer a flexible, reliable dog walking and pet sitting service tailored to your pet ‘s requirements. We offer a variety of pet sitting packages to suit different budgets. All of our team are experienced, fully insured and hold a basic disclosure adding the extra benefit of having home security whilst you are away from your home. Our managers are also Canine First Aid Trained.

Friends for Pets Cheddar dog walking team is managed by Amy. Amy showed a strong interest in the animal industry from a young age and was always willing to get stuck in helping care for friends and family pets. She completed her National Diploma in Animal Management at Weston College with a triple Distinction working alongside with Badgeworth Arena, extending her knowledge and experience practically. Within her course she took a strong interest in the Animal Behaviour and Nursing topics which helps her today with many of her clients. Amy started working for Friends for Pets in 2009 and took over as Area Manager for the Cheddar dog walking team in 2014. Amy is willing to care for any pet, whether its chickens, horses, dogs, hamsters, she has a strong passion to ensure they are looked after correctly. Amy is also very experienced with horses having worked as a groom providing daily care and being present for vet consultations and many other educational situations. Having had pets all of her life, Amy has the understanding for our clients when they are looking for a reliable and trustworthy team to care for their pets the same as how they are treated at home.

Amy has a small team of fantastic dog walkers, licensed home boarders, horse sitters and pet sitters able to help with all pet sitting services. Prior to confirming any booking we always give our clients the opportunity to have a free non obligation home visit with Amy and your available pet carer.
